Coffee and Donuts Milkshake

package Pillsbury™ refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet
3-5 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
tablespoon strong coffee
ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted
ounces coffee ice cream
cup warm hot fudge sauce
Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Remove the dough from the package and lay it flat on a floured surface. Now fold one half over the other half. Using a donut or cookie cutter, cut out 1-1/2 to 2-inch diameter rounds. Punch out a small hole in the middle using the end of a pastry tip or small round cutter. Arrange the donuts on the prepared baking sheet.
In a heavy-bottomed large pot or deep fryer, heat at least 2 inches of oil until a deep-fry thermometer registers 350°F. Working in batches, use a slotted metal spoon or spatula to carefully place the donuts into the hot oil. Fry, flipping once, until light golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes per side. When done, transfer to a wire rack. Make sure to return the oil to 350°F between batches.
While the donuts cool, make the glaze. In a bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk and the coffee until smooth. If the mixture seems too thick, add more cream (1 tablespoon at a time) until smooth. Whisk in the melted chocolate until smooth. Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze. Add sprinkles if desired (but leave two donuts sprinkle-free for your milkshakes). Place iced donuts on a wire baking rack to dry.
To make the milkshakes, add the coffee ice cream, two donuts, 1-1/2 cups milk and 2 tablespoons fudge sauce (if desired) to a blender. Blend until desired consistency is reached. If you do not want chunks of donut, blend until completely smooth; otherwise leave the chunks in and serve with straws and a spoon.
Grab 2 glasses and drizzle with warm fudge sauce on the insides and bottoms of the glasses. Pour the milkshakes in and garnish each with a donut ... or two. Bottoms up!

You know the whole coffee with donuts thing?
Well, that classic combo just got a majorly delicious upgrade.
Here’s the thing – I actually don't drink coffee. I am 20 years old and have never had a full cup. I just cannot seem to guzzle the stuff down like most people.
Maybe it’s because I have only ever tried black coffee, but the funny thing is that I love coffee-flavored sweets. Coffee and chocolate are my favorite pairing (well, so is peanut butter and chocolate, but ya know, who doesn’t love that?).
Last year I made a chocolate pumpkin spice latte for my blog and my readers went crazy for it! Granted it was probably more pumpkin spice, chocolate and whipped cream than coffee, but still, coffee flavored sweets are the best. I even put it in my chocolate cakes!
So when the thought of a coffee and donut milkshake popped into my head, I knew I had to try it. It’s coffee ice cream, blended with donuts and chocolate fudge sauce. It's SO GOOD, you will love it.
So here’s how you make it.
First, you need to make the donuts. Technically, we are making cronuts, a cross between a donut and croissant, but trust me – much better than your average donut.
Start with a Pillsbury crescent dough sheet.
Unroll the crescent sheet.
Fold it in half.
Cut out as many circles as you can with a round cookie cutter. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Cut out the centers of the donuts.
Heat a pan of oil to 350ºF and fry the donuts until golden brown. Place on paper towels to drain.
While the donuts cool, mix the frosting.
Dip each donut in the glaze.
Leave two donuts decoration-free for the milkshakes, then top the rest with sprinkles.
To make the milkshakes, add the ice cream, 2 donuts, 2 tablespoons fudge, and milk to a blender. Blend until smooth.
Drizzle each glass with the remaining hot fudge sauce. Divide the milkshake mixture between the glasses.
Garnish with a donut and serve right away!
